About
Dr. Michael Armellino was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Fairfax, VA. From a young age, he showed a strong passion for both sports and medicine. He played Division I travel soccer year-round and was a multi-sport varsity athlete at Paul VI High School, competing in swimming & diving, track & field, lacrosse, football, and soccer.
Dr. Armellino attended the University of Miami (FL), where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry as a pre-med student. He continued his involvement in athletics by rowing with the university’s crew team and graduated with honors in 2009.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Armellino earned certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He then had the opportunity to work with Mark Nemish, head strength and conditioning coach for the Washington Capitals, at Dynamic Sports Performance in Ashburn, VA. There, he trained a wide range of clients—from professional and collegiate athletes to young children and seniors—and assisted with player testing for the Washington Capitals.
Dr. Armellino attended and graduated from New York Chiropractic College in April 2015. In addition to treating patients in the clinic, he became a certified Parisi trainer, specializing in teaching athletes proper biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and sport-specific preparation. After gaining experience in several chiropractic clinics, he opened his own practice, NOVA Spine and Rehab Center, in 2017.
He is a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic in Virginia and holds certifications in Active Release Technique (ART), cold laser therapy, and Dry Needling. His approach incorporates a range of advanced techniques, including instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), kinesiology taping, spinal decompression, therapeutic exercise and stretching, cold laser therapy, electrical stimulation, and chiropractic adjustments.
Whether working with elite athletes or everyday individuals, Dr. Armellino treats every patient with the same level of care, commitment, and professionalism.
